Short Term Goals
- Recruitment and new job development:
- Coordinate the efforts of the task force with local
economic development related organizations
- Support the development and marketing of the 203 acre
and Enhanced Use Lease program as a job center
- Encourage large land owners in the importance of
the industrial/job center development, balanced with
residential
- Support effort on the behalf of the county that would
inventory existing and potential light industrial land.
- Business retention and expansion:
- Support the expansion of existing and new education
programs that will better train students in preparation
for entering the workforce.
- Support organizations, and the development of new
programs, that would assist the national marketing of
existing job requirements
- Create a team from local development and construction
industry to review city codes that impact density development,
team will make recommendations to Team Cochise as to
changes required for future development.
Long Term Goals
- Recruitment and new job development:
- Support initiatives, organizations and industries
that pursue and attract the jobs that reflect the skill
sets of military and defense industry dependants.
- Support an initiative that would assist in the transfer
of state owned land to private development within Cochise
County.
- Support the participating development organization
or organizations, contracted under the Enhanced Use
Lease program, to insure a research and development/commerce
center park enhancing the mission of Fort Huachuca and
Homeland Security.
- Encourage large land owners in the importance of
the industrial/job center development that reflects
the long term economic vision of the community.
- Business retention and expansion:
- Support organizations, and the development of new
programs, that would assist in the national marketing
of existing companies and their job requirements.
- Provide legislative support and endorsement of workforce
training grants and financial support of K-12, secondary
and post secondary educational training (i.e. Microsoft
certification)
